Many women are discovering that when using antibiotics to treat a urinary track infections or some other type of illness, they can cause a yeast infection. Another source of a potential yeast infections seem to be found in contraceptives.
Not many women relish their period; however, if you suffer from recurrent yeast infections, take note: Having your period will affect your yeast infection depending on the main cause of your yeast infection in the first place.
If you are suffering from a very mild yeast infection, you have a good chance that your symptoms will disappear during your period.
The reason that your symptoms will be eliminated are your period changes the pH balance in your vagina to a level that the Candida yeast doesn’t like. If you’re a very healthy person, you have a very small percentage chance that your yeast infection won’t return, but relying on your period isn’t a good idea for a way to cure your yeast infection.
The faster the yeast infection is cured, either with a natural cure or an over the counter cream the better off you will be. If your hormonal imbalances are the reason for your yeast infection then at the time of your period you will probably suffer even worse symptoms. Many women only get a yeast infection at the time of their period because of their hormones changing at that time of the month. In this instant you probably won’t get any relief from your yeast infection during your period.
The faster you rid your body from this bacteria the better you will feel. While on your period, here are some things to consider: Eat yogurt. It has good bacteria that fights offs the bad that your body naturally can’t. Before and after sex, urinate as it cleans out the tract. Do not douche. It kills the good bacteria off. The blood that comes out during a period is not actually what causes a yeast infection. If you use tampons, don’t because they harbor bacteria that causes infection. Use pads and change them often. Bacteria thrives in dark, moist, warm places and the vaginal area is a haven for it. They make wipes you can carry in your purse so that when you do have your period, you can wipe after going to the bathroom. Sometimes the type of underwear crotch causes yeast infections. If that area gets moist, it will become irritated. When at home, you can wipe with a warm wash cloth after sex and urination.
