Yeast infections are very common, as our yeast allergies. There are common yeast allergy symptoms. You may be allergic to yeast or your allergies may cause yeast infections.
A yeast infection causes and aggravates allergies. Yeast allergens produce classical allergic responses, causing symptoms of itching, hives, skin rashes, nasal congestion, cough, bronchitis, irritable bowels and asthma.
Yeast infections affect different parts of the body in different ways:
• Thrush is a yeast infection that causes white patches in your mouth
• Esophagitis is thrush that spreads to your esophagus, the tube that takes food from your mouth to your stomach. Esophagitis can make it hard or painful to swallow – this is the most common allergy related symptom.
• Women can get vaginal yeast infections, causing itchiness, pain and discharge
• Yeast infections of the skin cause itching and rashes
• Yeast infections in your bloodstream can be life-threatening
If you have a yeast overload, you may have an overgrowth of yeast within your body. The symptoms of this include:
• Chronic fatigue, especially after eating
• Depression
• Gastrointestinal problems
• Rectal itching
• Allergies – food and airborne
• Lowered immunity and susceptibility to infection
• Severe premenstrual syndrome
• Impotence
• Memory loss
• Severe mood swings
• Difficulty concentrating
• Recurrent fungal infections
• Extreme sensitivity
• Recurrent vaginal or urinary infections
The combination of the yeast overgrowth can lead to numerous allergies and yeast infections. When fungus overgrowth flourishes in the gut, the toxins from the yeast keep the pH unbalanced, causing a vicious cycle. Unbalanced pH balance in the gut alters the body's chemistry and unbalances the metabolic/hormonal chemistry. This type of infection is one of the most overlooked and misdiagnosed diseases in medicine.
It is important to consider the types of foods you are eating and the types of reactions you are having. A yeast allergy is very common and can cause serious problems.
In using various medications, a yeast infection can occur. This can include the use of antibiotics, birth control pills and certain other drugs that can stimulate the overgrowth of yeasts. However:
• A yeast problem should not be diagnosed without definite clinical signs of an infection. The signs of a local infection, for example, can include itching, soreness, rash, and a discharge.
• If an infection is present, treatment with an antifungal drug is recommended.
With allergies and yeast infections, the most important thing is to monitor the medications you are taking that may cause the allergic reaction or the yeast abundance. Also, be aware of your food intake.
