In treating a yeast infection, there are numerous treatments.  These include over the counter medications, ointments, douches.  There are also natural treatments.  There are also medications and prevention methods.

Douching:

First try an Apple Cider Vinegar Douche.

Apple Cider VinegarTo begin, in the morning mix two teaspoons organic apple cider vinegar with two cups of room temperature water. Fill douche bag and use accordingly.  And in the evening: Mix one teaspoon live yogurt, unflavored, with one cup of warm water. Fill douche bag and use accordingly.

Second is a tea tree oil douche that is made with two quarts warm water, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar and 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil.  Combine the ingredients in a two quart douche bag and use accordingly. You can also apply a few drops of the tea tree oil to your tampon and then insert it into your vagina.

To maintain cleanliness and prevention of yeast infections, you can use a general douche.  To make this, use two quarts warm water, two tablespoons peppermint, rosemary, or yarrow.  Boil the water and herbs for 30 minutes and let soak for two hours.  Strain off the herbs and pour mixture into douche bag. Use accordingly. This douche is safe enough for weekly use.

Yogurt:

Using plain yogurt with active cultures is very effective for getting rid of a yeast infection in women. When using yogurt as a remedy, what you want to do is apply it to a tampon before inserting it into your vagina. This should be done twice a day.

Be sure to do it once in the morning and once in the evening until the symptoms go away.

Another great way to use yogurt to get rid of your yeast infection is to insert the yogurt into your vagina using a spoon. You can also regularly douche with yogurt. It's been found to be a highly effective remedy for yeast infections.

To add even more benefits from using yogurt, you should eat yogurt every day. It'll help you get rid of your yeast infection quickly and it also has many other health benefits.

Garlic:

Garlic is another homemade remedy for a yeast infection. To use garlic effectively, you can apply garlic paste on the skin around your vagina. This remedy is so effective at getting rid of a yeast infection, that it can be applied to other parts of your body that's affected.

Also, you can use garlic with cheesecloth. To use cheesecloth, wrap some garlic with the cheesecloth and tie a piece of string to it. Insert the cheesecloth and garlic inside your vagina. After letting it sit for 20 minutes, you may pull it out using the string you tied to the cheesecloth.

I certainly wish I'd known some of this when I had my yeast infections. I always took prescription meds. That was before I became educated. Now I mainly strive to prevent - easier than treating any day of the week.
